General Duties (WILL be modified based on experience/interest)

Management & Planning:

  • Assist with planning and facilitation of membership &/or program staff meetings and training as well as building team cohesion and enforcing standards
    • Provide follow-up through meeting notes and personal meetings as needed
  • Assist in planning and execution of member & program recruitment and retention
  • Attend Quality Team meetings as scheduled


Communication and Member Engagement:

  • Assist members as a Membership &/or Program team member
    • Cover shifts on a regular basis (4-8 hours per week)
  • Assist with YMCA branch communication to keep members informed about programs and member services
  • Analyze overall data for trends and significance
  • Present information orally to large and small groups as needed


Other Responsibilities:

  • Assist with Strong Communities Campaign and learn importance of fund raising within a non-profit organization
  • All YMCA employees and interns must submit to a full-background check before hire
  • Other duties as assigned


  • Public Health, Marketing, Business or other education and experience (current major or degree)
  • CPR/AED and First Aid required within 30 days of starting internship
  • Customer service, promotion or public relations experience preferred
  • Ability to facilitate group meetings and teams
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
